The Amenano Fountain, known as the water in Catania 'or Linzolo'' ie water sheet for the cascading effect created by the water is a work in Carrara marble, the Neapolitan sculptor Tito Angelini and owes its name the river Amenano, many times covered by lava flows and visible in this unique part of the city. The fountain consists of a large tank from which stands the figure of the young Amenano surrounded by two tritons holding a cornucopia, this comes out of the water cascading down into the crankcase below which then flows into the river that flows under Amenano the square to 2 meters deep. The lava stone steps, behind the fountain, leads to the "Fish" old city market that can be counted among the major attraction of the city folk.
