There are several architects who participated in the reconstruction of the building following the two earthquakes of 1693 and 1818. Arch. Mario Di Stefano the facade of the building, which has a beautiful cloister in Vaccarini. Of great importance is also the main hall, the roofs painted by Giovan Battista Piparo Catania, with the walls covered with red damask cloth on one of which stands an impressive tapestry with the coat of arms of Aragon. Also noteworthy is the heritage preserved by the university with approximately 200,000 texts, manuscripts and codices.
